High-quality sleep is critical to succeed in your health ad wellness goals

I wrote a post last week about a few key areas to look at if your energy levels are generally low and you feel you need coffee (although it could be other stimulants) to keep you going through the day. 

One of the key areas to look at that I mentioned is sleep hygiene since high-quality sleep is critical. Sleep is highly influential, it affects every aspect of your life and every choice you make. When your sleep need is not being met consistently, you will exist not thrive. 

Since all I am about is helping others live a thriving life through wellness, I decided to write and create a series of posts to help you understand sleep and provide actionable strategies to fix it and optimize it.

I have experienced the criticality of high-quality sleep first hand. For most of my life I have been dealing with sleep issues and the nights I would get proper quality sleep were few and far between. 

I had assumed that as part of my identity and since I wasn’t experiencing any visible downsides because of it, I just accepted that I was a “bad sleeper” – if you have known me for some time you have probably heard me say that -. 

It wasn’t until a year ago when I realised that despite eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, meditating daily to manage my stress levels…, my energy levels were tanking, my mood was getting worse, my motivation was at rock bottom and my libido was non-existent, sound familiar?. 

It was a great realization that put me in a conquest to fix my sleep. For the last year, I have been delving into research to understand the science of sleep and have compiled a great deal of information on tools and techniques to deal with improper sleep, most of which I have personally applied.

My sleep today has massively improved

My sleep today has massively improved. It is still far from perfect and I still get a bad night of sleep here and there but I can certainly say that I am getting the best sleep nights that I can remember, my energy levels are great, I wake up energized and recovered, my mood has improved a great deal – or at least that’s what my partner tells me -, I have recovered my motivation and drive, and my libido is again back to normal – again, my partner can attest to this 😊 –
